F.I.S.H. Welcomes Anglers to San Diego for the USAngling Saltwater Kayak Nationals

— The nation's best kayak anglers are heading to San Diego for one of the most anticipated saltwater fishing events of the year — the USAngling Saltwater Kayak Nationals Tournament.

Hosted by F.I.S.H., this premier championship event will bring together elite kayak anglers from across the United States to compete in the world-class waters of Southern California. More than just a tournament, the Nationals is a celebration of competitive fishing, conservation, community, and the pursuit of excellence on the water.

As part of the week's activities, the San Diego Anglers Fishing Club will host a special Welcome Dinner and Kayak Fishing Seminar on Wednesday, August 12th at 7:00 p.m. The evening will bring together local kayak shops, industry vendors, top saltwater kayak anglers, and fishing enthusiasts for a unique opportunity to learn from the best, explore the latest gear, and connect with the kayak fishing community.

National Qualifiers and members of the community are invited to attend and will have the chance to hear from some of Southern California's most accomplished kayak anglers, learn proven techniques for targeting local species, discover the newest innovations in kayak fishing equipment, and meet industry-leading manufacturers, retailers, and conservation organizations.

The Nationals competition will feature an action-packed schedule including a Captains Meeting, tournament competition, Awards Dinner and Banquet, cash payouts, and high-value raffle prizes generously donated by sponsors and industry partners. From start to finish, participants and spectators can expect excitement, camaraderie, and unforgettable experiences both on and off the water.

Adding even more prestige to the competition, the Top 10 anglers will advance to qualify for the USAngling Saltwater International Kayak Team, earning the opportunity to represent the United States in future international competition.

Participants and spectators are encouraged to visit the F.I.S.H. website regularly for the latest event information. Details regarding lodging, local restaurants, tournament schedules, seminar information, Captains Meeting locations, sponsoring activities, cash prizes, and Awards Banquet details are being updated daily as plans are finalized.

In addition to the Nationals competition, F.I.S.H. is proud to host a special Day on the Bay for Wounded Warriors on the Monday following the tournament. This event is designed to thank the volunteers, sponsors, and participants who help make the Nationals possible while giving wounded veterans an opportunity to experience kayak fishing and enjoy a day on San Diego Bay. Through this event, F.I.S.H. hopes to share the therapeutic benefits of fishing and the outdoors while honoring those who have served our country.

"We are excited to welcome anglers from around the nation to San Diego," said Jojo Pemberton, President of F.I.S.H. "This event showcases the incredible fishing opportunities Southern California has to offer while highlighting the growth of competitive kayak fishing, the spirit of conservation, and our commitment to giving back to the community. We invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable week of fishing, fellowship, and fun."

F.I.S.H. remains committed to supporting recreational fishing through education, conservation, advocacy, and community involvement while helping create opportunities for anglers of all ages and experience levels.

The organization extends its best wishes to all competitors and looks forward to an exciting week of competition, camaraderie, community service, and unforgettable fishing experiences in San Diego.
